SENSATIONAL SHEZ

Recently Shez  had a little competition on her blog and guess who won? ME! Shez is always thinking of others and makes heaps of beautiful things for a lot of her bloggy friends . How she finds the time to stitch so much is beyond me but just between you and me I think she has pinched Barb's elves. Anyhoo, I digress. Well, all I can say is that Shez has really spoiled me with this beautiful bag.

It is in my fav colour and the fabric is so sweet.  Look at her lovely embroidery framed with ric rac.

                                                        Even the handles are pretty.

                                                       THANKYOU SO MUCH SHEZ.

I have been doing some secret sewing.

Keep warm, keep smiling and Angel Blessings to you all.

ANOTHER LITTLE CIVIL WAR OVER

Oh dear! I have just completed one of my little Civil War quilts but still have 2 more to baste and hand quilt. Then, ofcourse, there is the one that I am still hand piecing and had forgotten about. I have taken this opportunity to try out my new camera and the program it came with. I hope it works okay. So, here is the quilt I have finally completed.

                                                                And the label.

Each day I aspire to complete a border around a hexie flower for my Insanity quilt. So far I have done 20 something but have quite a few to go yet.

Quite a while ago I finished all of the stitcheries for the Once Upon A Time quilt. However, I recently discovered that I had neglected to stitch the border lines around each block. Perhaps I went a bit cross eyed after all that stitching. So, I am trying to complete them by doing one block per day .

I am itching to start cutting the bright spotty Kaffe Fasset Jelly Roll and fabrics for this quilt. But,I guess I will have to wait a while longer now. Ah well! I am off to my sewing room to baste one of the other little Civil War quilts ready to hand quilt. Working out how to quilt it is proving to be quite a challenge but I am sure some inspiration will strike......eventually.

Angel Blessings to you all.

WEEKEND STITCHING

This weekend I have been busy stitching while watching heaps of catchup TV. I have now completed Val's 4th B.O.M.

                                                         AND Jenny's 5th one.

Now that those are done I made a start on one of Gail Pan's new patterns which I ordered as a kit from Fabric Patch.

Hmmm, I must get back to that hand quilting I was doing on one of my little Civil War quilts.

Thanks for stopping by.

MORE BIRTHDAY GIFTS

I am constantly amazed and delighted by all the wonderful stitchers I have come to know through their blogs. I recently sent my first FHFS  project to Fiona which I hand pieced and hand stitched. The theme was "hexies" so I was in 7th heaven making it.  I incorporated 3 of Gail Pan's stitcheries using a Cottage Garden thread called Viola.

My birthday was a month ago but it seems that gifts are still rolling in. Wooohooo! Today I received a lovely parcel from Sue as part of the Fat 1/4 Birthday Club. You can see the gorgeous bag she made for me as well as some cute little Tilda cards, some lovely soap from Paris, yes PARIS,  a cute little tape measure and a lovely pattern. The other thing you see in the foreground, the black and purple pouch, quite stumped me. I opened it and out popped a fan lol. Perfect for my frequent hot flushes.

 A big thankyou Sue

You may know that I am a bit of a Gail Pan groupie. Well, mum also loves her stitcheries and has made me this cute framed birdie.

Yesterday I bought a new digi camera as my old one is about 10 years old and only has 3 x zoom and 5.1 mega pixels. It is also slightly bulky.  I thought a slimmer, lighter camera with more zoom and 20.1 megapixels might be better to carry when I go away on holiday .Guess what colour it is? PURPLE. Now I have to learn how to use it . I wish I had more zoom myself!

If you are following Jenny's BOM , her 5th block is available today.
