IN FULL BLOOM FINISHED

After visiting Lynette's beautiful shop I couldn't wait to put the binding on my In Full Bloom quilt which is one of the gorgeous quilts on display in one of my pics. I started the stitcheries a couple of years ago, pieced the quilt last year, had it quilted this year and just finished the binding a few hours ago.

Here is a close up of one of the stitcheries.

I can't wait to start on another of Lynette's kits soon. Meanwhile, drum roll please, I have nearly finished the binding on Henrietta Whiskers. Don't fall of your chairs. Seriously, I have about 12" left to stitch and I have already made a label to go on the back.

Remember the Fabric Frolic last month? Well, I was lucky enough to win a prize from Lily Patches in Boronia- 2 patterns and 12 fat 1/4s of beautiful fabric. Thankyou to the lovely ladies who kindly posted them to me.

When in Qld I could only find 1 thimble to add to my collection. They are so hard to find these days.

Hmmm a bit blurry. Try polishing your glasses. Nope, that doesn't work either. Sorry. I am now off to finish stitching the binding on Henrietta Whiskers and I may even get the label on tonight. Thanks for stopping by. Angel Blessings.

LOVELY LYNETTE

As promised, I have some pics of Lynette Anderson's lovely Little Quilt Shop and all the goodies I bought. Lynette and her staff really made me feel welcome (and talked to my hubby while I paid }. Hehehehehe. We have all seen pics of Lynette's gorgeous quilts and notions etc, but to see everything up close and personal was such a joy. Thankyou Lynette and the wonderful girls who work there. { sorry I have forgotten their names}. Here is the front of the shop.

Blame hubby for the bad shots! And here is Lynette and myself. She must feel like a movie star having photos taken with her fans and autographing books.

Some displays.....

So many yummy things to look at and drool over. Needless to say I had a fair bit of carry on luggage on the plane back home. Very precious cargo indeed!

I bought a few kits- The Candy Cane Angel table centre piece, Sewing Friends cushion, Woodland Secrets quilt and the Fernhill quilt. My fingers are itching for stitching .

2 pincushion kits. Love the patterns and loooove the fabrics.

A couple of more patterns, thread spools ( which are really cute) and  a set of Cosmo Multiworks threads that I love to use. Now all I need is to borrow a few elves to help me sew all these beautiful projects and a few extra days in the week.  I really had a fantastic time shopping in Lynette's wonderful land of stitching and  really encourage you to visit her shop if you are ever up that way. Ofcourse, you can order on line as an alternative.

. I hope you have enjoyed this little tour. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all many Angel Blessings.

INITIAL HEART SWAP

I was quite pleased to join the Valentine's Initial Heart Swap hosted by Cheryll who organises so many lovely swaps throughout the year. ( See my side bar). My secret partner was Kerrie http://www.channelbankcreations.blogspot.com.au/
so I stalked her blog to get an idea what she liked. At first glance I saw all the beautiful lavendar on her header and I was immediately inspired. I thought I would make her things in purple and green. I couldn't find a suitable pattern so I decided to design my own. I love hexies and love purple so this was a delight to stitch.

I also made her a heart and did her initial freehand.

I couldn't resist knitting a facewasher and wrapping some handmade lavendar soap in it.

Kerrie sent me some lovely things.   She has made this beautiful journal cover with a large journal inside and a beautiful appliqued tea towel.

Thankyou Kerrie for my beautiful gifts I really love them. Thanks to Cheryll for organising this wonderful swap.

Meanwhile, I have started stitching Leanne Beasley's  " Sew Laugh Love" that I have had sitting around for a while.

I also had the wonderful opportunity of visiting the delightful Lynette Anderson at her Little Quilt Store last week and I bought heaps of goodies there which I shall show you next time. Here is a teaser.

Thanks for visiting. Angel Blessings to you all.

GARDEN ANGEL

Today I visited a bric-a-brac shop and what did I see A beautiful angel looking up at me She was shoved in a corner amongst many things Then I saw her twiggy wings A pearl necklace draped around her neck Her own little watering can, so what the heck I couldn't resist her as you can see She is now resting quietly at home with me.

I'm not really a dolly person but I do love angels. To think that someone had lovingly made her and she ended up at a bric-a-brac shop for $5-00 is quite sad but I am so glad I found her. She was waiting for me. I have finished my 2nd crocheted baby blanket for the Womens' Refuge and have started another one already. Well, when the weather allows me to crochet without perspiring hands.

I have 2 quilts awaiting binding to be sewn on which may be here next time. Thankyou so much for stopping by again. Angel Blessings.
