MYSTERY REVEALED AND OTHER THINGS

Hello everyone. Did you guess what my mystery project was? I made a birthday pressie for Vicki. She recently acquired a new pizza oven so I thought I would embellish a couple of tea towels for her.

I have completed 2 more Farmer's Wife blocks. Unfortunately I have had to unpick another one so I shall show that at a later date.

You remember I said that I now have the crochet bug? Well, my hubby's crochet knee rug is almost finished and meanwhile I have crocheted a scarf for myself while on the bus travelling to and from Cobram with my patchwork group on Friday and Saturday. It is really soft and warm.

As I mentioned, I went with my patchwork group to Cobram for the Vic Quilters Autumn gathering on Saturday. As usual, we stopped on the way at a couple of patchwork shops where I bought some more fabrics. We stopped at Gisborne ,  Kyneton , Bendigo and  Rochester. Unfortunately we didn't manage to shop in Bendigo but the lovely lady at Rochester stayed open late for us at 6-00pm  which we greatly appreciated. Here is what I bought at Gisborne and Rochester. Some is for my Farmer's Wife quilt.

Actually, a couple of the fat quarters and the charm squares were from stalls at the gathering.  We had a fantastic time . Their guest speaker was a lovely local woman who is a knitting/wool designer . I caught up with a couple of the ladies from Gigarre who I met last year and met some new people while we stitched. We received a lovely little gift each. Isn't it cute? It contained a very yummy choccie, a key ring with a template on it and a wooden reel of thread. Yey! Wood! You know how I love collecting wooden cotton reels!

Last of all, here is the current block I am handpiecing. It is my first block from Sue Daley's( Patchwork with Busyfingers) " Block To Block ".

Next time I hope to have hubby's rug completed and the last applique of Henrietta Whiskers. Last week I picked up a bed runner and my cat's quilt from my quilter and just need to sew the bindings on. So, maybe some pics of them too.  Now I am off to wash all those lovely fabrics I purchased. Happy stitching and angel blessings to you all.
