I have been a bit quiet in blog land recently but I have been busy stitching and doing some crochet. I am now 2/3rds into the crocheted blanket and it is so snuggly while I crochet each evening.
Yesterday I bought 3 x 100g balls of variegated pure wool that were on sale and started crocheting a shawl last night. I have been working on it today so it is now a little bigger than the photo.
On Saturday I attended a Sit and Sew day with one of my patchwork groups and worked on my Lucy Boston EPP. I basted a few more background pieces and now have some joining blocks completed.
We had a lovely couple of ladies as our guest speakers from 'Max & Louise Pattern Co." They had some beautiful quilts of various sizes and quite a few little quilts which I absolutely adored. My determination to refrain from purchasing anything was soon overcome and I bought one of their small quilt collection patterns which has 3 quilts of various little sizes. Just perfect for me, with some EPP and needle turning or blanket stitch applique. Who knows, I may even get some of the poly fuse product they use for needle turn applique which stays in and dissolves when the quilt is washed. Hmmm, I am still pondering about this.
I have been making some progress with my little Civil War quilt. I have now completed hand piecing the first row of blocks together and 2 of the sashings with 9 piece cornerstones. A bit fiddly but worth the angst.
2 more of Jenny's little calendar stitcheries are nearly complete. Hmmm, must go and put the bindings on the other 3 soon.
Look what arrived today. My next Lucy Boston block.
Thanks for visiting and wading through all the pics.
Angel Blessings to you all.
