O.P.A.M AND OTHER STITCHING THINGS

Gee, OPAM comes around so quickly and here's me thinking I had another day to finish one of the projects. WRONG! So, due to my scatty menopausal , sleep deprived brain I have completed 2 projects but I have cheated with one. (* bowing my head in shame*). The first one is my mini wall hanging which you have already seen .

The second one is a stitchery I completed a year or 2 ago that I hadn't framed. I bought a canvas to staple it to eons ago and today I decided to actually do it. Well, despite all good intentions I failed to staple it to the canvas because I noticed that there were quite a few wrinkles in the borders despite ironing it 3 times. So, I have left it taped to the canvas so I can try to rectify the problem when I am in a better head space. Thus, the "cheat" OPAM. And, to top it off, the pic is blurry grrrrrrrr! Anyhoo, you get the idea.

I completed Jenny's "May" stitchery, the one with the problematic boot.( I did end up unpicking it and sewing it with a new thread). I am now auditioning the little mini charm squares , a gift from Barb at Christmas. Yep, it is definitely easier to match threads with preselected fabrics than the other way around. Dah! Only took me about a decade to come to this realisation.

The " June" stitchery is underway.

Another Lucy Boston block is almost complete.

My previous life as an avid reader is returning. I have finished Harper Lee's book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hmm. I keep looking at the cover thinking I may recreate the bird on the branch as an applique....one day.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

Angel Blessings.

  9. Lovely sewing - that stitchery of Leannes is so great. I would try spraying it with a bit of water then stretching it over to get out the crease?
